| Mussels in White Sauce Recipe | Mussels in White Sauce Recipe Ingredients:- 3 lb Mussels - cleaned, debearded
- 2 Leeks - ends removed, halved, sliced
- 2 Medium Shallots - finely chopped
- 2 Garlic Cloves - finely chopped
- 4 tablespoons Butter
- Salt and Pepper - to taste
- 3/4 cup Dry White Wine
- 1/2 cup Cream

| Mussels in White Sauce Recipe Instructions:Wash/Scrub mussels, discarding any that won’t close, and set aside. heat 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat in a large sauté pan, add leeks and shallots. Cook for 2-3 minutes, add garlic, salt, and pepper and cook for an additional 4 - 5 minutes. Add wine and bring to a simmer, cook for 2 - 3 minutes. Mix in the cream and remaining butter, cook the sauce until it has reduced to a thick texture, sauce should stick to the spoon. Heat a large saucepan to medium heat, add the mussels and stir in the sauce. Cover and cook for 5 minutes or until the mussels have opened. Discard any mussels that are unopened Serve the mussels and sauce in 6 - 8 bowls.
