 Recipe Shrimp Gumbo

Recipe Shrimp Gumbo Ingredients:
  • 1/3 cup Oil
  • 1 lb Shrimp - peeled, deveined
  • 1/2 cup chopped Scallions
  • 2 cups Fresh Okra - sliced
  • 3 Garlic Cloves - minced
  • 1½ teaspoons Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon White Pepper
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 cup canned Tomatoes
  • 2 Whole Bay Leaves
  • 6 drops Tabasco Sauce
  • 1½ cups Cooked Rice


Time: 40 min
Serves: 6

Recipe Shrimp Gumbo Instructions:

  • In a large skillet heat oil  for 10 minutes. Add in the shrimp, scallions, garlic, salt and pepper; simmer for 5 minutes.
     

  • Add water, tomatoes, and bay leaves to skillet; cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Remove bay leaves then stir in Tabasco sauce.

    To Serve

  • place a large scoop of rice into 6 bowls and spoon gumbo on top of rice.

  • Remember to only add a little salt to fish dishes
  • If required, serve with your choice of sauce
