 Shrimp Bisque Recipe

Shrimp Bisque Recipe Ingredients:
  • 1 lb Medium Shrimp - peeled, deveined, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Butter - use divided
  • 1/2 cup chopped Celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped Onion
  • 1/2 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 3 cups Water
  • 1 teaspoon Chicken Soup Base
  • 1 tablespoon Tomato Ketchup
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1/8 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Seasoned Salt
  • 1 (12-ounce) can Evaporated Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Dry White Wine

2 - 4

Shrimp Bisque Recipe Instructions:
  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat melt 2 tablespoons butter, add shrimp, celery and onion, cook, stirring occasionally, until shrimp turn pink. Remove from saucepan; set aside.
     

  • In same saucepan melt remaining butter  over medium heat then stir in flour and gradually stir in water, chicken soup base, ketchup, bay leaf, cayenne pepper and seasoned salt.
     

  • Bring to the Boil, stirring occasionally; reduce heat to low. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.
     

  • Add shrimp mixture; cook, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes, remove bay leaf. Stir in evaporated milk and wine.
     

  • Heat through and serve.
